Ominous Questions for May 31st 2008
May 31st, 2008Welcome to the first installment of our new feature, Ominous Questions! As you may have noticed, the update comes on a Saturday, when it was clearly advertised as coming on Thursday. This is because after realizing that Thursday was slightly too early, we decided to make the date Friday. And since We’re terribly lazy, the first update got pushed back.
There’s no joke in there, so don’t feel bad for not laughing.
Today Calvin, Victor, Walt and Mick are going to take a look at three questions posed by readers like you. The first question comes from Ben Wallis, who apparently is so confident in his name that he didn’t feel the need to use a pseudonym:
Is everyone with an English degree annoying?
Calvin: Annoying who?
Walt: I think he’s asking if English majors are annoying to everyone around them. Judging by your answer, I’d have to lean toward “yes”.
Calvin: That’s completely and utterly unfair. I’m annoying as a person. My degree has nothing to do with it.
Walt: To answer your question Ben, no, people with English degrees are not all annoying. At least, not any more annoying than people with Philosophy degrees, Management degrees…
Calvin: …Art degrees, any kind of science degree, Marketing degrees, whatever degree chefs get…
Walt: …Or even people with no degree. In short, everyone is annoying. Even you.
Calvin: Especially you.
Our next question comes from Bucky O’Hare, which is a cool pseudonym. It’d be even cooler if it was not a pseudonym:
Isn’t he, like, totally cute?
Victor: Totally.
Mick: Victor, you’re looking at a fire hydrant.
Victor: A cute fire hydrant.
The last question comes from Roger, which is such a boring name that it must be fake:
What’s up with the zombie?
Victor: Debug Zombie came to test out our site and make sure that our exploits were properly portrayed.
Calvin: I always thought he was the previous tenant?
Mick: It could be both. I sometimes see him out and about.
Walt: I’m fairly sure site debugging is just his part-time job. I see him bartending all the time.
Victor: Life is rough for the undead.
Well, that does it for this week’s Ominous Questions. Stay tuned every Friday (promise) for more answers to questions that no one asked!
