Read Error

Regular readers of Ominous Knife understand that our world operates just slightly to the left of reality. As such, this current situation, while improbable, is definitely not impossible on either side. I mean, remember when people were selling other people on eBay? That’s stuff happens more often than you’d think.

Of course, there are usually Dateline specials devoted to those kind of transactions, but there’s no need to worry about Shadbrook Arms’ newest tenant. In fact, he’ll probably be a better tenant than the rest of the gang, if for no other reason than the fact that Thedar can’t speak English. Or…y’know…at all, for that matter.

Every sound that comes out of his mouth carries the quality of a bipolar monkey typing on a keyboard. It’s like the kid speaks in Morse Code. And don’t get me started on his school supply list. Calvin got it in the mail and apparently the kid’s being sent “two oxen of goodly proportions” to help pay for his tuition. Yeesh.

But enough about him. How are you guys doing?

This new addition to the cast has me both frightened and excited in more-or-less equal proportions. I hope to see him in the comic again (and also not to).

What does Thedar do? I don’t understand how he could even attend school without a translator.
