Here's the thing. Yeah it's not the best season ever, but it could be worse. Don't believe me? Two words- Nikki and Paulo.

I blame whoever it was that forced the show to extend beyond its original story arc.
if it had ended on time, i feel like they wouldn't be having to make it all extra-complicated.
but nooooo, it was making money, so the money guys said "hey, can you stretch the story out so the big questions don't get answered for an extra two or three years? thanks!"

Ben, I think most of the vitriol is due to the fact that we all really love Lost (except for the one guy on the other post). It's all one big "HOW COULD YOU LET YOURSELF BECOME LIKE THIS!" rant.

Abrams has nothing to do with Lost. He was just a cocreator and receives a producer credit for being famous. Direct yourcomplaints to Darlton. Ps if you don't think they consider apparent plot holes and fan questions you should check out the long history of producer podcasts. They're pretty awesome. Also if you don't like lost please don't watch and spoil it for people who do like it.

I can respect the "I like it anyway" point of view. I've used it too often not too.
The show still pisses me off. Chris, we can watch boxing stories instead.

Lost is amazing this season. Except for the super cheesy Mrs. Hawking. That bitch can die in a fire.

Ok, so I've given it some serious thought and I have to say that in previous threads, you have brought up amazing points about the flaws and shortcomings of not only Lost, but also J.J. Abrams as a director/producer. Lost is incredibly formulaic, wildly far fetched, and for the most part, there are plot holes you can assume will not be solved by the time the show comes to a close. Proponents of Lost will argue that any plot holes that aren't answered by the series finale were simply red herrings and were designed to throw you off. I think that is giving Hollywood entirely too much credit. They will also say that it is sci-fi, and therefore will bend or break the laws of our own universe as a means to further the plot. Where this argument falls short is the fact that Lost has a habit of breaking the rules of its own universe, which can be, at times, extremely jarring. Taking all of these things into consideration, I have to say that I still enjoy Lost weekly. I think the reason why I enjoy the show and the reason why it seems to bother you is that our expectations are different. When I sit down to watch anything on tv, I'm never expecting to have my mind blown; I'm barely expecting the need to maintain full consciousness. When you sit down, you might be looking for something that is well written, with great acting, and an actual plot. It may sound strange, but if that's the case, I'm afraid you are expecting entirely too much. Keep in mind the entire reason for tv isn't for our benefit, its to make money off of ad space. If silly electromagnetic time travel is what keeps the most people glued to the screen, then you better believe Faraday is going to be riding shotgun with Mr. Peabody in the Way-Back machine. It is entertainment based on the hopes of making more money, and taken at brutal, terrifying face value, it's really not that bad.
